For generations, people have been saying that “Laughter is the best medicine,” but is that statement really true?
It’s only been in the last ten or twenty years that researchers around the world have put this to the test, studying the effects of laughter on depression, pain, illness, and social isolation. In this Bloom session, Lorne Tepperman returns to share the research and the life lessons we can learn.
Lorne Tepperman was born in Toronto, studied in Canada and the US, and has been teaching sociology at the U of Toronto for 51 years. He loves teaching undergraduates and writing books about the bizarre, dangerous, and enchanting world we live in.
After Lorne's talk and Q&A, you'll be matched with a group of 5-6 other attendees to explore this topic further. It'll be an opportunity to connect and share your own experience or wisdom. The conversation is moderated by a fellow community member and is a welcoming and safe space for all.
You're all set 🎉
