At 60, a forced and completely unexpected retirement from her corporate executive position left Sally Hansen struggling to redefine herself and find new meaning in her life.
In her Bloom session, Sally shared how embracing photography is making the post-retirement phase of her life “the best yet!” She’ll discuss how reinventing herself as a nature photographer restored her self-confidence and fills her life with challenge and joy. She might even convince you to take a shot at photography yourself.
After surviving demanding positions as VP/CIO (Chief Information Officer) at B.C. Hydro, Carleton University, and Newbridge Networks, Hansen relishes the freedom, the supportive friendships, the challenges, and the fulfilling achievements that her photography delivers. Trained initially as a journalist, she also writes monthly artist profiles for Ottawa Valley’s arts paper, “theHumm.”
